Barbara Sallick must have derived so much pleasure as she pored over photographs to consider for her latest book, “The Perfect Kitchen.” The photographs detail every element from cabinets to faucets, from islands to the stools that belly-up to them. A serendipitous visit to The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield, CT (encouraged by a friend who is a volunteer in the education department there) reminded me that wonderful exhibitions can hide in plain sight — in this case, practically in my backyard. Barbara Sallick and her husband raised the bar when they founded Waterworks 42 years ago, with products for functional and aesthetically pleasing baths and kitchens. “Instead, it’s all about informed inspiration: beautiful spaces, architectural details, breathtaking views, remarkable materials, and new possibilities.” Sallick, who cofounded the kitchen and bath design company Waterworkswith her husband and remains the Senior Vice President of Design, recently shared a rare look inside her own kitchen …
