Denise is played by David Duchovny, best known for his role as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder in The X-Files. Developed and written by creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, the season is a continuation of the 1990–1991 ABC series.
Twin Peaks still has a couple of gags at Denise's expense, but on the whole, her portrayal is warm and dignified and Duchovny is great in the role. Duchovny reprised the role in the 2017 revival.
